Tell your story in your own voice

Your story can start with one conversation

You do not need to write a memoir or wait for someone else to invite you. Tellby is testing a simple way to begin with one memory, told by speaking naturally.

A first research conversation is designed to take about 10–15 minutes.

Joining is contact interest only. It is not an account, payment or recording agreement.

Which sounds like you?

Both paths matter. Choose the one that best describes who wants to begin.

I want to tell my own story

You are curious about telling memories in your own words and want Tellby to contact you when direct storyteller research opens.

Tell my own story

I want to help someone I love

You would like to invite a willing parent, grandparent or older relative and help them keep a story for the family.

Help someone tell theirs

One story at a time

A conversation, not a writing assignment

  1. 01

    Start with a memory

Tellby asks one clear question at a time. You choose what feels worth talking about.

  2. 02

    Speak, rather than write

A first research conversation takes about 10–15 minutes. You can pause, skip or stop.

  3. 03

    Review what was heard

Tellby keeps your voice with a written draft so errors can be corrected before sharing.

You stay in charge

Interest is not consent. If Tellby invites you to research, recording and sharing choices are explained separately before anything begins.

  • Choose which memory to explore
  • Skip a question without explaining why
  • Pause or stop the conversation
  • Review and correct the result
  • Keep the story private unless you choose otherwise

What Tellby is

Tellby uses a voice interviewer and AI-assisted tools to ask follow-up questions and prepare a draft story from a conversation.

During early research, a pilot-team member may guide or manually support parts of the process. We explain whether anyone will be present or listening before you make a separate recording choice.

What Tellby is not

  • A memory test
  • A test of your technology skills
  • A request to write a book
  • A public social-media interview
  • Permission to copy or imitate your voice
  • Permission to use your story or voice in advertising
  • A commitment beyond one conversation

What is recorded, processed and saved

Joining the contact list records none of this. If Tellby offers you a research session, these facts are explained again before you decide whether to continue.

Recording and transcript

Only after separate consent, Tellby records your voice and writes down what was said. The original recording remains the trusted source.

AI-assisted tools

OpenAI supports the live conversation and transcript. AI is then used to help turn the transcript into story material and readable draft wording.

Pilot-team access

The pilot team may use a consented recording and transcript to prepare a draft. Joining this list does not share a story with family or anyone else.

Storage and deletion

Before a session, Tellby explains storage, retention and deletion choices. You can read the privacy policy or ask the pilot team before deciding.

Tellby does not sell your data or use family recordings to train general-purpose AI models. Joining gives no permission to use your name, face, voice or story in advertising. Public use would need a separate request and a separate yes. Read the privacy policy.

Questions people often ask

Clear answers before you join the contact list or consider a later research session.

Do I need a family invitation?

No. You can join this contact list yourself. It is an interest test, not a self-serve account or a booked session, and Tellby will explain any later research invitation separately.

What if I cannot remember every date or name?

That is fine. This is a conversation, not a memory test. You can say what you remember and correct a draft afterwards.

Will AI replace my voice?

No. The original recording remains the trusted source. Joining this list is not permission to copy or imitate your voice.

Who can see my story?

Joining the contact list shares no story with anyone. If Tellby offers you a research session, the pilot-team access and any sharing choices are explained before separate recording consent.

Do I have to decide about recording now?

No. Joining the list only lets Tellby contact you. Recording, processing and sharing are separate choices explained before any research session begins.

Tell us you are interested

We only need your name, email and permission to contact you. Please do not send a story, recording or private family details here.

This is contact interest only. It does not create an account or agree to be recorded, transcribed, charged, shared or used publicly.

We use these details only to assess and contact you about this research. Read our privacy policy.
